Primary Care Senior Support Assistant

Job Introduction

Do you have significant experience working in a general practice setting working in both care navigation and receptionist roles, and have exceptional coding skills and experience?  Can you provide flexible cover to help deal with peaks in workloads across various sites? If so, we are looking for 2 Primary Care Senior Support Assistant to join our expanding team to assist with the day-to-day running across our practices.   

 

As an experienced Senior Support Assistant you will work with operational managers to create additional resilience across the service, acting as a role model and mentor across practice teams.

 

Salary: £26,136.00 Per annum

Location: Various practices based in – Sefton, Litherland, Seaforth, Netherton, Crosby, Thornton, Maghull, Hightown, Bootle, Garston & Netherly

What will you be doing

  • Provide flexible high quality support to any practice, workload and service, immediately relocating to another site due to changes in operational staffing should the need arise. 
  • Carry out and be fully confident in the duties of a Care Navigator, Medical Receptionist and a Clinical Coder when required by the service. 
  • Provide operational support to the onsite practice and clinical team.
  • Ensure all records are accurate in either written or electrical format
  • Record essential information in a concise and accurate manner using EMIS web systems processes.
  • Ensure patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Ensure safety of our patients by following correct processes.
  • Open premises and complete security checks, ensure all clinical rooms are prepared at the beginning and end of each day and perform the closure procedure to set alarms and lock premises as and when required.
  • Ensure that all incidents, complaints and safeguarding concerns are escalated appropriately following the correct process. 
  • Meet key performance indicators targets as set out and agreed.
  • Identify any patients that require immediate emergency response and refer to correct emergency ambulance service.
  • Ensure all patients are treated with respect and adapt to any communication needs. 


What do I need  

  • A minimum of 2 years experience working in a general practice setting.
  • A full UK driving licence is essential 
  • Full flexibility to be able to travel to all Primary Care 24 sites 
  • Experience of working in a changing and challenging environment 
  • Excellent communication skills and able to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office.
  • Experience in using EMIS clinical systems.

  • 37.5 hours (Operational hours Monday - Friday 7:30am – 6:30pm). Mixture of early (7:30 - 3:30) and late (10:30 - 6:30) shifts as required
