Are you a GP? Primary Care 24 (PC24) are seeking highly skilled and motivated GP’s to join our workforce with opportunities within Primary Care, Out Of Hours & Alder Hey. We employ salaried and bank workers within Primary Care and are currently recruiting for flexible salaried GPs in Out of Hours, so offer the flexibility to fit around you.
Salary: £108,664.00-£130,398.00 per annum (pro rata) or £76.43-£91.48 per hour for Bank staff
Department: Out of Hours, Primary Care & Alder Hey
Location: Various locations within Merseyside, Sefton & Halton; including Wavertree Head Office
Shifts: Full time/part time and bank positions available (depending on department)
What will I be doing
Out-of-hours (OOH): Onsite including home visits -24/7 service
- Carry out medical services with due care and attention, using skills and experience in accordance with good medical practice.
- Triage patients over the phone and make a clinical decision about appropriate care.
- Investigate and diagnose with a care plan/management to follow.
- Medicine management and occasional urgent test management.
- Conduct home visits and face-to-face Urgent Care Centre appointments. .
- Work closely with operations and clinical staff
Primary Care: Onsite in our GP practices
- Carry out medical services with due care and attention, using skills and experience in accordance with good medical practice.
- Focus on the needs of the patient, investigating and diagnosing with a care plan/management to follow.
- Medicine management and occasional urgent test management.
- Integration of social prescribing into the care of our patients
- Work with and support all clinical colleagues & operational teams.
- Work with clinical leads and medical director to challenge and improve the service.
- Ensure all clinical reports are kept to the highest standard.
- Consider the needs of the community and the wider determinants of health.
- Keep great clinical records.
- Collaborative working with other health care professionals and providers to bring optimal expertise around the individual patient. This includes secondary care and community NHS professionals and the use of all communication pathways available e.g. advice and guidance.
Alder Hey: Onsite
- Assess, diagnose and provide advice, care and management to children and young people presenting with undiagnosed or undifferentiated illness via face-to-face assessments, within our paediatric primary care streaming.
- Demonstrate clinical reasoning, critical thinking and autonomous practice, supported by APNP colleagues in the Urgent Care Centre based on site at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.
- Provision of high quality holistic clinical care, aligned with current healthcare standards
- Focus on the needs of individual patients and develop a shared decision-making approach where appropriate
- Collaborative working with other health care professions and providers to bring optimal expertise around and individual patient. This includes secondary care and community NHS professionals and the use of all communication pathways available e.g. advice and guidance.

- Working with the clinical leads and medical director to challenge and improve the service
What do I need
- Full GMC Registration and licence to practice
- Up to date Enhanced DBS Certificate (we will apply for one for you if you aren't a member of the DBS Update Service)
- Understanding of clinical risk management and clinical governance
- Ability to take independent clinical decisions when necessary and to seek further advice from colleagues as appropriate
- Ability to manage own time and workload in line with SLA’
- Excellent interpersonal skills – ability to communicate sensitively
- Demonstrate skills in written and spoken English adequate to enable effective communication
- Competent in the use of IT systems including ADASTRA and EMIS system
